Varicocele— varicocele means there is a varicose vein in the scrotum.  Since the scrotum helps keep the testes cool for sperm, a varicocele can raise the temperature of the scrotum and therefore harm sperm.  Varicoceles can both reduce sperm count, and can negatively affect the quality of sperm.  If a varicocele is severe, the patient may need surgery.  Acupuncture and herbal treatment after such a surgery will help speed the healing process and ensure a quicker return to healthy sperm production.  TCM can treat the root issue of a blood stagnation that leads to a mild varicocele.
