Poor Morphology—Poor
morphology means that when semen is examined, a high
number of sperm are not normal or healthy. Poor
morphology can be due to congenital testicular
abnormalities, varicocele (enlarged veins in the
scrotum), fever, infections, drugs, and exposure to
environmental pollutants. Acupuncture and herbal
treatments will help men produce healthier sperm, which
can successfully inseminate the female egg. As always,
when treating male infertility, it is important to know
that the patient will receive the most benefit from
acupuncture and herbs over a period of about three
months. This is because sperm is generated in the body
about three months before it becomes part of a man’s
ejaculate.
