Luteal Phase Defect—Luteal phase defect occurs when there is a post-ovulation progesterone deficiency.  When this happens, uterine lining will not be receptive to implantation, and embryos will not attach.  Acupuncture and herbs will help regulate endocrine function so that progesterone levels will stabilize with treatment.  It is recommended that a woman seeking acupuncture to regulate FSH levels, and increase healthy functioning come in for treatment every two weeks.  Generally these visits should be in sync with her cycle.  Herbal treatments can be prescribed to increase the effectiveness of acupuncture treatments in the meantime.
