Headaches and Migraines

I have suffered from headaches of one kind or another since I was 11 years old. Over the past few years they have gotten to the point where I was able to find no relief for months at time. I was told that this was something I would just have to learn to cope with. And after two acupuncture sessions, I could already feel the difference. – Casey B.

I was experiencing horrible headaches and after my first session, they were completely gone. Now I want to go back to Melani for the incredible relaxation and rejuvenation. – Kyle M.

Headaches are gone!

Because no two people experience headaches and migraines in the same way, Traditional Chinese Medicine is an excellent treatment modality: you will receive a unique treatment specifically created for your personal triggers and symptoms.

Relief with Acupuncture and TCM is fast, effective, and safe, without the complications of drug treatment. While Western doctors often treat severe headaches with drugs, these medicines may have harmful side effects, and can lose effectiveness over time. Drugs also carry the risk of dependency, and the potential of over-medication. Headache drugs can stress the liver, kidneys and other internal organs.

How does acupuncture help my headache?

An acupuncture treatment begins with a thorough medical interview including detailed questions about the specific characteristics and triggers of the headaches to determine the root cause of the symptoms. Treatments are individually tailored to take into account where and when headaches occur. A unique treatment program simultaneously addresses the overall health of the patient while alleviating headache symptoms.

Chronic headaches, tension headaches or migraines, can make even the simplest parts of life can seem painful and overwhelming. Serious headaches rob a person of both time and joy, and, depending on their severity, can prove debilitating. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can help reduce the frequency and severity of chronic headaches, or even eliminate headaches from daily life.

Headaches and migraines can have different sources or causes, including neurological, muscular, sinus-related and menstrual-related. Because Chinese medicine addresses the root cause of symptoms in addition to the symptoms themselves, treatments can improve the health of the whole body.

Headaches may manifest in a variety of symptoms. Sufferers may experience dull pain and tightness throughout the head or in the head and neck area. Pain may feel like pressure or a tight band around the skull. Other types of headaches may feel more like a sharp, localized pain. Pain may seem to live only on one side of the head, or be limited behind the eyes. Other headache pain may have a pulsating quality. These headaches are often accompanied by a visual aura that appears as a blurred area in the field of vision, or even a blind spot. Each of these unique symptoms points to different categories and causes of headache pain.
